How often are other substances identified in patients with gamma hydroxybutyrate contributing to death?
A retrospective analysis of the National Coronial Information System in Australia identified 74 patients in which gamma hydroxybutyrate contributed to death over a 20-year period. There were 64 patients with toxicology reports available and other substances were identified in 92% of these patients. Stimulants (64%), sedatives (28%), and alcohol (20%) were most common.
