Goals

The goals of the program are to (1) support the development of young toxicologists and provide access to professional opportunities, (2) promote multidisciplinary collaboration in the field of clinical toxicology and to (3) provide a structured system for strengthening the network of AACT members.

About

ToxCoach is a group mentorship program where mentees can gain valuable career growth advice while networking and formulating career long relationships. Mentors will host quarterly meetings with small groups of mentees to discuss topics including but not limited to AACT, NACCT, scholarly activities, job prospects, career advice and more. The small groups will enable trainees to develop relationships within a small cohort of multidisciplinary peers. Students, residents, fellows and junior faculty, up to five years out of fellowship, are encouraged to apply as mentees this summer. Matches will be made before the NACCT meeting. Program leadership will do their best to accommodate requests and matching mentors and mentees to areas of interest.

"I thoroughly enjoyed all of my interactions with the AACT Tox Coach program.  I have explored avenues of toxicology and obtained wisdom from titans in toxicology such as  Dr J. J. Rasimas, and Dr Ziad Kazzi.  My new AACT Tox Coach is Dr Richard Dart, and we met for the first time at NACCT.  I was honored to spend time with Dr. Dart, a legend in toxicology.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the AACT Tox Coach program, and I hope I can contribute and serve as a mentor in the future." - Jonathan Meadows, DO, MS, MPH, CPH, DTM, PHAP Cert (ILFHA, UHE, AHPP, MEAL, HNA, CVA), Emergency Medicine Resident, Class of 2023
