In a recent retrospective review of 107 suspected beta-blocker toxicity, how much of an effect was glucagon found to have on heart rate (HR) and systolic blood pressure (SBP)?
Glucagon (mean dose = 2.66mg) was associated with a statistically significant increase in both HR (mean increase of 4 bpm) and SBP (mean increase of 4.5 mmHg) at 20 minutes post administration with a small absolute difference and of unclear clinical significance.
