What is the effect of cannabis legalization on the frequency of poisoning by synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonists (SCRAs)?
Researchers using AAPCC NPDS data compared SCRA poisoning rates in states with permissive versus restrictive legal status for cannabis in 2016 through 2019. Although SCRA poisonings generally declined, the decline was nearly 3 times greater in states with permissive laws regarding cannabis use.
