What are the primary manifestations following ingestion of liquid nitrogen?
Gastric perforation due to the expanding nitrogen gas, as well as thermal burns to the GI tract are the primary manifestations of liquid nitrogen ingestion. The cited case report details a gastric perforation requiring total gastrectomy and Roux-en Y reconstruction following consumption of an alcoholic beverage containing liquid nitrogen.
