Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT) Board of Trustees and the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) Executive Committee have agreed to develop a “hybrid” meeting of the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology (NACCT). This means there will be an in-person meeting, following all safety and physical distancing precautions, and a virtual option. Unfortunately, due to current travel restrictions the location of the meeting is moving from Montreal, Quebec to Atlanta, Georgia. (Montreal will be rebooked for 2023!) We will announce new dates and the specific location shortly but for now we are tentatively scheduled for the main congress to take place Saturday, October 16 through Monday, October 18, 2021. While we do not know what the situation will be in October, it is clear that with vaccination efforts well underway there will be safe options for attendees to travel if they choose to do so. Modifications to the conference will likely involve more limited food service options and potentially the elimination of the hotel receptions. However, we are working on safe and engaging networking options. We are working out the details of both the live and virtual events, and the Pre-meeting symposia so please stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime, please do submit abstracts for platform sessions and posters (submission is open until May 24) as well as session proposals (open March 12 – April 1, 2021.) You are welcome to send any questions to nacctinfo@meetingpriorities.com. Warm regards, Kirk Cumpston, DO |
