In a recent retrospective study of both acute and chronic lithium poisoned patients, how well did the lithium nomogram predict patients that would have a lithium concentration of < 1 mEq/L at 36 hours?
Sam K et al. performed a retrospective analysis of both acute and chronic lithium poisoning from May 2013 through 2020 to externally validate a lithium nomogram. In this study, there were 29 cases of chronic lithium poisoning and the nomogram had a sensitivity of 71.4% and specificity of 53.3% in identifying patients that would have a lithium level < 1 mEq/L at 36 hours.
