Terfenadine was pulled from the market for which life threatening adverse effect?
In 1997, Terfenadine was removed from the market for concerns of TdP secondary to Ikr blockade, particularly in the context concomittent treatment with drugs blocking its metabolism (CYP 3A4 inhibition). The use was replaced by the metabolite fexofenadine.
