In a recent study linking records from the American Community Survey to the National Death Index (2008 to 2019), what sociodemographic characteristic was found to increase the risk of drug overdose death?
Olfson M et al. evaluated American Community Survey data and National Death Index records and found that living alone was associated with an adjusted hazard ratio of 1.42 (95%CI, 1.30-1.56) for overdose death after adjusting for age, sex, race and ethnicity.
