This mitochondrial uncoupler recently was shown to reverse obesity and insulin resistance in mice.
BAM15 is a mitochondrial uncoupler, structurally unrelated to dinitrophenol, and in a recent mouse model was shown to be orally bioavailable and decreased body fat mass. In this model and at the dose used, there was no appreciable temperature change. There is a paucity of data at this point on this compound though given its mechanism of action, its toxicity profile will likely outweigh any benefit it may have on weight loss.
