Question - What are the decrements in function associated with very low levels of blood alcohol?
Answer- The cited reference states “This review of the literature provides strong evidence that impairment of some driving related skills begins with any departure from zero blood alcohol concentration (BAC)”. These authors further state “By 0.050 g/dL, the majority of studies have reported impairment by alcohol.” Interestingly, the cited review notes impairment in driving, flying and divided attention tasks at BACs as low as 0.001-0.009 g/dL.
