Toxicology history is fun, fascinating, and educational. Numerous experiences, poisonings, and catastrophes have occurred throughout history that teach us valuable lessons. Today’s webinar will cover three major topics in the history of toxicology.

Case Study #1: The historical role of psychoactive pharmaceuticals in American healthcare, and how it still shapes medical practice today.

Case Study #2:  The form of mercury (metallic, organic, or inorganic) and the route of exposure (dermal vs. inhalation vs. ingestion) determine its toxic effects.

Case Study #3: Discuss Paracelsus’ life, with a focus on 16th Century medical training and practice
