Title:
Pathogenesis of Local Tissue Damage Induced by Snake Venoms

Description:
Local tissue injury is a significant cause of morbidity in snake envenomation. This session will provide an in-depth review of current scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying local tissue damage from snake venoms. This knowledge will help participants better understand the role of antivenoms in treating this aspect of snake envenomation and provide a better understanding of how novel and adjunctive treatment options may potentially harm or benefit patients.
