Title:
Not All Help Is Equal: Racial Disparities in MOUD Access
Description:
Despite the known efficacy of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in reducing rates of overdose and death, there is data to suggest that historically marginalized communities do not have equitable access to MOUD. Inequity in access is related to factors like persistent stigma, disability, structural segregation within the healthcare system, racial disparities in incarceration, unequal access to private insurance, and the rising prevalence of fentanyl in urban communities. This webinar addresses root causes and gaps in the literature of such disparities to help improve awareness, advocacy and facilitate change.
