A Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology is a toxicologist who has shown excellence in the field of Toxicology and service to the Academy. Fellowship status can aid in academic advancement and establish expert status in the field.
The AACT Board of Trustees wishes to recognize Academy members whose contributions are important to the Academy and to the field of Clinical Toxicology. Consequently, the Board has created the designation of Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (FAACT) to honor those members. Fellowship status is awarded through a peer-reviewed process using strict criteria to evaluate service to the Academy and to the field of Toxicology.
Criteria for Fellowship includes (but is not limited to):
- Minimum of Five (5) Years of Full Membership in AACT, which can include the current membership year.
- Contributions to AACT Core Activities including:
- AACT Contributions/Activities
- AACT Affiliate Activities
- NACCT Contributions
- Sustained Contributions to Toxicology including:
- Sister Society/Medical Society Contributions/Activities
- Toxicology Related Education/Teaching
- Toxicology Related Journal Contributions/Publications
- Toxicology Related Service
Fellowship status is awarded through a peer-reviewed process using strict criteria to evaluate service to the Academy and to the field of Toxicology. Applications for FAACT status are reviewed by the AACT Fellowship Committee.
A minimum of 20 points are needed to be considered for Fellowship*, with at least 15 of 20 must be in Section 1: AACT Core Functions. Broad participation in 3 or more areas of AACT Core Functions is required.
*Points alone do not guarantee fellowship acceptance.
